Has anyone out there mounted a Boss snowplow to a loader. I have a Boss Sportplow 7 1/2 ft. I lost the truck in an accident so now the plow just sits there. Bought a Frontier SB1164 because I use the loader all winter. Was wondering if anyone made or bought a quick attach for the plow. It obviously has the mount for the truck but I think I could make it work.

Sorry I have a JD 2520 with a H130 loader.

I made a mount for a myers plow once, it worked well. Let the chain make a float and was very happy with it.

Just one question though? Could it possibly be worth more to sell as is as a package and just pick up a Tractor Supply 3 pt rig or Craigs list special to butcher. If it's nice it seems a waste to butcher a serviceable truck blade in some circumstances.
Now if you do decide to weld one of these up do post pictures. I have an old one that I want a SSQD mount on. I sure would rather copy someone elses rig on that than reinvent the wheel. I hate grinding welds.

A 7.5' plow would be too much for a 2520.

There are several here that have mounted snow blades to their loader.
I put a skid steer quick attach plate on an old 9' Western truck plow that I have been using for several years.

I still have the Boss lift cylinder plumbed into the original system, but you don't need to use that when the plow is attached to the loader. If you set and leave the lift cylinder in "float" mode with the electronic controls, the plow will hang off the cylinder like a chain. You only have to set the cylinder in float once, then you can unplug the controller and put it way. Another option is to remove that lift cylinder completely and replace it with an actual chain.

Eventually I plan to fab up a frame/sub frame mount for the plow and operate both the side-to-side and lift cylinders with the loader controller. With the loader detached, of course. I'm mostly just interested in doing this just because I have extra Boss bush beam parts from my old plow truck and think it would be an interesting project to try.

Katahdin,
That is exactly what I was thinking about. I have had my plow on Craigslist from the last month and no calls. I am not going to dump the price if I can use it on the tractor. It has paid for itself two times over within the last 7 years. The plow is the poly blade so I think it will do okay with my flat driveway. I would question it if I had a an incline. I just recently bought a frontier sb1164 rear snowblower to do the driveway. Why not have both right?! That is great work. Thanks!

I have a 2520. With That size plow you won't push the big snow, big that won't matter to you since you have the blower. That should make a great combination, plow for light snow and blower for heavy.

I used to run an 84" rear blade on my JD 2320. You won't have any problems. The worst is the first pass than bite off whatever you can handle.

Btw, IMO a blade is the fastest way to clear snow, but that doesn't mean without draw backs. Ymmv

Yeah I still have doubts about the snow removal without a cab. I used to plow with kids and dogs. Now I have to bundle up and it will take 3x as long. That is why I am interested in attaching the plow. Thanks ford ecoboost! Found out later boss dealers won't touch it. Snoway makes a plow but it is 5k plus.

Why would they care? Attachment point must the same as the other engines.

I read up on this because I was curious, snow plows would be hard on the Ecoboost's electric power steering and requires a sub frame for attachment. The 7.6' Snow-Way plow weighs just 471lbs, but you can get a 8 foot 590lb model if the F150 has the Heavy Duty package.

Ecoboost needs airflow due to the twin turbo. The main problem in the plow mfg eyes is the electric power steering. It is all about liability and they are afraid if I lost my steering and crashed it would come back to them.

IMO a 1/2 ton should not have a plow on it.

I agree if you are doing more than your personal driveway.
