Forum Upgrade - Any Issues?

I'll wager someone has already brought this up, but is the New Posts Since My Last Visit function available? If not, is it going to be available?

Which light blue? In the quote?

Under General Forums, the forum name is dark blue.

To the right I believe it is the name of the post which is light blue. and all the members names at the bottom are light blue.

I can or course magnify the page and the print gets darker, but if I try and get all the print on one page, the print get tiny and hard on my eyes.

Maybe it all the white in the back ground.

Is there a chance of optional colors for different color schemes for those of us that have trouble with eye strain.

I can understand why some of you think it is perfect for you, but you don't have my eyes.

I'm having weirdness with Firefox 13.0.1 No problem with IE9, but I only use that when all else fails... This is what all forums look like.

Your viewing in "copy of tractor" style. See my posts a bit above yours! haha, At least thats what it looked like when i selected that, other wise it looks normal on my IE7 at work.

And the quick launch button works here at the house, menu is slimmer and off to the right and does not dissappear behind other text boxes. EIther you fixed it or my work computer is all whacked out?

Here is a picky thing but this same quck change forum menu, use to when clicked was on the forum you were in, not at the top of the list. Right now if i click on it i will be at the top of the forum list and not with the news/feedback as the start point. I like the old way better so that when i opened the menu it was on say the News/feedback menu when on this thread, and if i wanted to go to "yanmar" its not as long a scroll. Well i guess this works both ways as it is now, it would be quicker to go to the projects forum under the current setup vs the old?? Guess what im saying is im used to the old way and guess i dont like the change?

Not sure Roy but I think it is now called simply "NEW POSTS". That will list all threads and you will see a message inserted in the list:

"The threads below have not been updated since your last visit but still contain unread posts."

Threads above the message are the "New Posts Since My Last Visit".

i brought it up, ( probably others too.. I've skipped reading a few pages here and there..)and it is now 'new posts' that gives you posts made since last visit i'm pretty sure.

IMO, "new posts, todays posts, since my last visit, and last 24 hours" are all a bit redundant. They get me the same results. Personally I only see the need for one. Because seriously, I rarely make it past the first page, and that usually only goes back a few hours:confused2: So I guess for me, those buttons have a meaning of "100 most recent posts".

I am still waiting though on the extra clutter to be removed from below a thread title

i like the new posts since last visit. so if one is going, I vote for that one to stay, for those of us that may want to know what has been posted since out last visit, even if over 24hrs.. it has the most utility.. etc

I am not sure how the "since my last visit" worked in the old forum, cause I didnt use it, and I dont use "new posts" in this new version either.

Reason is simple: If you click new posts, it is just that, all the new posts that you havent looked at yet and THATS IT. Whereas "todays posts" shows ALL the recent posts INCLUDING ones that you have looked at. Those are just white instead of yellow.

So lets say hypothetically, you are on here browsing and reading. There is an interesting thread that you just read and may reply but you have to step away for a bit. When you comeback and click new posts, if it hasnt had any activity since you viewed it last, it isnt even on the list.

So me personally, I'd like to see ALL of the threads, even the ones I have already been in. But those are still distinguishable by being white. But if you step away for more than an hour, all of those are on the second page anyway :shocked:

My screen is showing a "new posts" button but I don't know if that is the same as you are asking about, Roy. I miss the "new posts since last visit" button also.

Now I'm back home. The site looks great on the 24 inch monitor.

But ... Firefox 13 here won't refresh my FF taskbar icons that represent TBN, from Blue V to Yellow Tractor. I have tried F5, Ctl-F5, Ctl-R. The icons properly switched to Yellow Tractor on my ranch laptop as soon as I hit refresh (the round symbol at the right end of the Address field) but that and the other attempts didn't work here. Any suggestions?

The favicon took a couple of days to update for me. It's strange. But it's definitely there.

No change. I've rebooted in there too, and no change

Try this as a fix:

1. Go to the forum (any page) and hold down shift while refreshing (press F5 or click the refresh button in your browser)

If that doesn't work...

2. Click this link: TractorByNet.com - Compact Tractor Forum

If that doesn't work, repeat step 1 after step 2.

If you still have problems, clear cookies and then repeat the same process. Also be sure to close/restart your browser.

OK, I understand now. We can fix that. Part of the issue is that the links used to be all underlined, whereas now only some of them are. This was by design, but we're not opposed to making all links underlined so they're easier to read.

Additionally, your suggestion on the color scheme options is a good one. :thumbsup:

To confirm, the "new posts" button is the same as "since my last visit" ... we just didn't have the space to make the title the same.
