Those trucks are regularly listed for sale in my area for 12 to 14k in running condition. I wouldn't personally go over seven for it and only if its in great shape. 6.0's are a hard sell especially the 03-04 trucks.

Surprisingly I'm seeing that from NADA, KBB and Edmunds...Way cheaper than I ever would have thought. A real shame to be honest. If I needed this, I'd take a chance but I need another vehicle like I need another you-know-what. Seems like too much risk for limited, if any, upside.

You can't buy a f-250 4x4 ext cab with a 5.4 with a 100k on it here for $12k.

Probably couldn't here either let alone an F350...Got that much for a 1/2 ton GMC 4x4 xcab 5.3 with 90k on trade..Sat on the dealer lot for 14,900 for two days and gone..

I'm still stunned by the value of that truck..Sounds like the early 6.0's are poison or something.

IDK everybody bashes up on the 6.0's so much but they bring a premium.

I'd run equally fast from anything 6.0! Good friend of mine had an 07 F350, turned him off of Ford diesels, and he is a die hard Ford guy. The thought of $6,600 bill for head gaskets was the final straw.

A Ford tech that posts on youtube has good things to say about the 6.7L though.

Have you serviced a Ford 6.7L yet? I love the oil plug design, pretty cool idea.

No. I have been around quite a few but never serviced a 6.7

What is odd about the 6.0 is atleast a dozen of us have them in my boating group and there has been one EGR valve and one guy had to replace 3 injectors. Most are chipped and two have 10 vane turbos for more performance and we just dont have the issues that you hear about.

These trucks have on average 100,000 miles and are used every week to pull boats from 10,000# to 18,000# and occasionally a 25,000# load.

I have had 3 6.0s first one was a 04 then two 06s. One of the 06s blew head gaskets at 8,000 miles then was fine toll 80k when the fuel pump went. Fixed it and traded the next week. My father still has a 06 6.0 with no issues, and he is tough on equipment.

I gave 4500 for a 5.4 powered f-250 this spring with a 8 foot western plow and 136k on it. Even had brand new tires on it. 2000 vintage. Passed on a 99 that was in rough shape with a v-10 and a 8 foot boss for 3600.

The 6.0 is a good engine and if it was bullet proofed already I wouldn't have any issue buying one but the cost to do so is high. End result even though I want to move up to a crew cab drw I'll be making a living with my 01 7.3 for a while yet until the prices come down some on the 6.7 trucks. The 6.4's are pretty good pulling motors as well but are another one I just don't have a warm fuzzy feeling about.

People just don't forget the issues that some of the 6.0's had at first and it makes them a really hard sell when it comes time to unload them. There was lots of good ones but the few that were terrible made the reputation.

That is because you are running and using the 6.0 like it was intended. I had 2- no issues. Both stock, a 04 & and 06.

We have had 3 6.0s 04,05 and an 06. All pretty much wanted to live at the dealership. EGRs, head gaskets the 06 had electronics problems. No more Fords now and probably ever again. Boss is buying Chevys and Dodges now and we have not had any problems out of either one.
My buddy who works for a Ford dealer sent me this when 2 of our trucks were in the shop at the same time.
