3-Point Hitch Ford 3400 3 point problem

Hello,

I have a Ford 3400 and the 3 point hitch is acting up. The hitch will only go all the way up or all the way down, you can't get it to do anything in between even if you only move the lever just a little bit. What would cause this problem?

Does the tractor have a selector for either Position Control or Draft Control? It sounds like you may have inadvertently selected Draft Control. In draft control, the implement only raises slightly as the tractor senses a change in plowing depth. This is normally sensed by toplink compression. The hydraulic lift either raises the implement or drops it all the way as you indicated in your post.

If you have position control selected, you could have something broken or out of adjustment causing the 3PH to only respond as it would in draft control. I don't have specific knowledge of your tractor to give you any more advice than that.

It does have the option for draft control but i tried the lever in both spots and it seems to act the same.
