.......factory uses 950 ft lbs plus a quarter turn:laughing: Several of us have commented how hard it is to break those bolts loose the first time. I was sure I was gonna wring off my allen bit.

I had to go and get an allen-to-1/2" socket to get a breaker bar on them. They were a bear!

A little tip .Tac weld the nuts to the frame on the back side ,and it makes removing/installing the brush gaurd a breeze.

Before you weld the nuts on make sure that they won't interfere if you need to install the snowblower. The quick detach fitting slides over the top of the frame when you remove the front brush guard. And yes I'd like to see the factory gorilla that installed those cap bolts.

Good catch on that,if it is an issue .I wouldnt know that, for i have a rear blower.Ican have my hood and grill gaurd off in 5 minutes, now that i welded the nuts so they dont turn

Also, do yourself a favor and get your own bolts. Standard, hardened, ACE hardware style. :D

What size are the bolts? I purchased an eBay brush guard and it came without bolts.
