Tractor
Kioti CK 2610
Finally dry enough to till this morning.
This tractor feels so much more planted than my old while doing this, at times I actually felt bad for my 2000 series Deere while tilling.
Loving this machine thus far. 13260D75-B9AF-4D67-91FD-D8A4DC6F755D.jpeg

I don't know if it at all matters, but I did a bunch of spots for pumpkins this season. The areas I sprayed with generic roundup first are still 99% weed free. The ones I just ripped, raked off grass/weeds, then tilled have lots of weeds/grass poking up thru the pumpkin canopy. Spraying first made a huge difference in unwanted stuff later on.

Wow - your dirt looks like dirt :) . vs the red/orange clay I call dirt here in NC.....

I sprayed it with glyphosate a few days ago. All the green is dead, it just doesn稚 know (or show) it yet. Under the gun for time and with near nonstop rains this summer, I had to do it while opportunity presented.

Nice. Mine took a few days to look "dead" too....yours just looked so healthy in the pic I didn't think it was sprayed :) Your tiller looks to be doing a great job.

Your pic gives me topsoil envy :)

Nice and fertile, but not without a lot of small rock.
Got my oats and winter peas lightly tilled in, now it’s drizzling . I hoped it would hold off until I put the radish, turnip and clover seed on top.

I run a 6 foot tiller on my 2610 and absolutely love it.

I have a small one for my 2610 like 50” and it doesn’t cover my wheel tracks and have been thinking about getting a wider one....what make is and does the 2610 run it good?

It's made by Taylor Pittsburgh and it is a rugged unit. The 2610 gear runs it very well. I turned my fuel up some for more power but even before that it worked well.

Over the years of buying equipment I notice dealers try to sell smaller tillers, don't know why but this 72 inch unit is the cats meow. I even tried it on a small Cub Cadet 26 hp Diesel tractor and that worked it very well also.

I haven't found anything the little 2610 is bad at. I love the thing.IMGP0031.JPG

Mine is a HST model wonder if that would make a difference?...my dealer put the tractor on the dyno before it was deliveried and it actually pumping out 28HP. How much did you turn your up was it hard to do? I’ve never heard of that brand of tiller possible Ontario Canada they are not available here. My tiller is an old JD one which I believe is actually for a large garden tractor lol I should of gotten a tiller when I got the tractor. But it does the job for now. I have no complaints about my tractor I love it everything Ive asked it to do it has with no problems.

I never dynoed the thing but I cranked the rack out 5 millimeters. She goes very well, it actually went well before but when mowing with the 6 foot mower it would die down a bit in heavy grass; no longer an issue.

It's a large engine for 26 hp. 1.6 liter iirc.

Sounds like I have something great to look forward to lol

Yes... it does... Hope these pictures may indicate how its as wide as the outside of the wheels. Its about right for any of these CK frame sized tractors. 60 inches.

Now... so far alright with the seeds. Only problem is that we then have had four days of heavy downpours instead of just steady rain. So some seed has come uncovered rather than just sprouted. I think its ok as it was heavy seeded so enough is still rooting but if the Turkeys get in there they are going to do some damage. Ill just have to watch and see. Nothing can be done about mother nature. I have some left over seed so I can fix a few spots but if it stays like it is there is plenty of coverage. See last picture. This is at like day 7 but with all that rain just ending mid day today. Very heavy rain for days! And yes... those are deer tracks in that mud.

Tiller looks mint thank you for the pictures.....your plot is looking very good as well. What did you plant? I’ve had very good luck with turnip and radishes they nail the leafy greens first and once frost hits watch out they are pulling radishes out of the ground that are 12-18” in the ground. Things may grow differently where you are then where I am in Ontario Canada.

The Tiller is brand new. This was the first time its even been on the tractor. I traded for it from my larger stuff when I downsized tractors and equipment this past spring. This little tractor couldn't have handled the other one I had as it was about 6 foot wide. In fact most of my older equipment was traded in the deal as it was too big. I downsized almost everything.

This is a blend of stuff a local expert designed and has made up. Retired DNR guy and he operates a business called "Wings and Antlers". He consults, constructs, plants and designs game management plots and properties for people. A kind of a dream job. He practically lives on a tractor and people pay him for it. LOL... Its a mixture of various Pea's, Hemps and stuff. Ill have to get you the name and ingredients list. Don't have it handy at this writing.

Sorry for the double tap...

But that gives me a place to put this info on my seed choice. This was recommended to me by the afore mentioned professional.
