No opinions?
I was switching over to ratchet binders and was looking for something to save some space and work in tight areas around tractor. Here are three options.

One question on the T-handle...I would think the ratchet action would work two ways: by turning the axis of the stem of the T or the spinning the T around the axis of the ratchet body...anyone know?

Anyone ever use any style of these...feedback appreciated.

The T handle one is inline with the rachet gear so it is not gear driven (spin the T handle). It has to revolve around the rachet.

I have two of the removable handle rachets (well, two binders, one handle) and it seems to work pretty good. Just don't lose the handle or you will have to use a pipe wrench

Thanks for reply Newblue, I'll probably eliminate the t-handle type based on your info. and the removable handle is still an option.

What I'm curious is if anyone with experience using ratchet binders would look at the video link at top of thread of the folding handle ratchet driver and give their opinion on wether these have any speed/functional advantage over traditional center ratchet binders?

I know there are experienced ratchet binder users out there!

I use ratchet binders nearly everyday & about the only advantage to the folding handle one's is the ability to fold the handle out of the way when needed.

I occasionally use ratchet binders (I now prefer and use ratchet straps), I see little advantage to folding the handle. In any place that you use them you need enough space to rotate the handle to tighten the binder, not sure what folding it would gain you.

Me too.
The folding handle would be nice for storing. They take up a lot of box space with a non folding or non removable handle.

Thanks for replies.

The folding handle would help with storage in the trailer tongue box, but my question in earlier in the post was this:
If anyone with experience using ratchet binders would look at the (1 minute) video link at top of thread of the folding handle ratchet driver and give their opinion on wether these have any SPEED/FUNCTIONAL ADVANTAGE over traditional center ratchet binders?

I meant there are some other features besides a folding handle listed on the video along with someone using the binder. I was interested in someone's opinion after viewing the video. Thanks for any more opinions.

Like the others, I use ratchet binders about every day. The only advantage I see to the ones you posted would be storage space, like was already said. I doubt there would be any speed advantage, even with the 'free spin' spot on the pawl. I usually use one hand to pull the handle, and rotate the body of the binder with my other hand until it's tight, then I tighten it down with the handle.

Just my opinion, though.

I checked the link out more thoroughly, did not see a video????

However, the ability to lock the binder does seem cool.

mbrule thanks for checking......I thought, he couldn't see the video and I went and checked my original link.....I placed wrong link for video when I started thread!
I'm sorry to anyone who attempted to follow the original link for video.
BTW, the low res. version is very quick to load and is very good quality.

mbrule or anyone else, here is correct one from Tulsa Chain:

SCC QuickBinder PLUS - G80 - From Tulsa Chain, Inc.

As an update I went ahead and ordered a set of the scc quickbinder plus...the price was good (best price: tarpstop.com) and I figured since no one was familiar with them & the different features on the ratchet action they may be worth a shot.
Turns out they are really nice to use, compact and appear to be well made. They are rated for gr70 3/8" or 5/16" (I'm using gr70 5/16").
I did see they are made in China for an American co. (not a big surprise) and they use the larger grab hooks to work with either chain, but other than that and as far as binders go...very nice.
