FNG (Fun New Guy)

New guy on the block - my wife and I have 4+ acres outside of Prosser, WA.

Just got through building the garage/apartment of what's going to become our retirement place; and needed a tractor to clear the land for planting lawn and some vegtables. So, based on what I found lurking here; we just purchased (to be delivered next week) a Deere 1026R with FEL.

Any tips/hints/gotchas would really be appreciated...

Green tractors are very cool, but your probably paying a good 6-7 GRAND
MORE for that unit versus a like machine in a different color. If I was
flush w/ cash I would have bought a JD, but I am not and in my case
I saved a HUGE potload of money going w/ a Kubota BX25 vs a like
sized tractor in green, and I am very pleased w/ my purchase to date.

If you have cash to burn go for it, absolutely, If you pefer to buy frugally
looked real hard at a BX25.

Welcome to the TBN forums from Missouri. Congratulations on your new tractor; several people on the John Deere forum have them. They are a bit higher, but have some really nice features; we have green, orange, red, gray...
