I know some on here have bought the betstco flail. They make one that they claim can take out 3" stuff with the hammer/mulch blades. Has anyone tried one? would this reliably take out 3" stuff?

I don't have that brand, buy my flail pulverises 2-3" sage brush without difficulty.

I run machines for a living. run heavy duty flails by alamo, they will not cut 3 inch material, those are called shredders, mount to the front of skid steers or on th arm of an excavator. flails will cut up small sticker bushes and stuff, must make high pass first. even with the heavy duty blades thickest I have cut is 1 inch and it is load and does not sound good for the cutter, bearings pto shaft. etc etc JMO
