Chains fitting chains ? tensioners question (s)

On my old man's Massey Ferguson 135, we took a large washer (about 3" in diameter) and drilled 8 holes around it, then used old trampoline springs to hook in the chains and the washer. The homemade tensioner works like a charm and nothing rots. I may try this as well on my 7800. Since huricane Isabel went through, it seems as if I have an abundance of trampoline springs as well as a lot of bent up pipe. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Thanks to all of you for helping out !
Had to remove a few cross links , but eveything went well .
The worst part was dishing the tires out for more clearance .
Those bolts were TIGHT !
Only turned the air blue once ! Got the first tire done , came up and looked at the picture Henro ( Bill) posted .
Had the chains on wrong ! the part where the cross chains attach to was on backwards . the second chain went well and only tok about 10 minutes . Again, Thanks ! You guy's are the best . John
