Sorry for your bad luck - maybe put a briggs big block on it. You have the 61" deck and 34HP engine I presume?

My when I start the blades on my 25/52 when cold I start a 3/4 throttle and it bogs a bit but kicks in no trouble. Are your bearings in good shape - meaning well greased and blades sharp?

A dull blade and will put a lot more load on the engine.

Good luck with your replacement. You might contact Ferris and see what they offer given the hours as they are owned by B&S now and may be able to offer a nice deal on a new engine.

Ferris makes an awesome looking machine and I get you are going to be excited for a long time.

We found a guy who bought a Swisher 60" ZTR with the large BS engine with 27 hours for $2200 near Christmas. He wanted and got a Kubota diesel but his wife wanted the Swisher because it was just under $5K.

It has the heavy Eaton drives and OK sheet metal. So far so go.

It inhales on steep banks. Did buy the nice $300 hydraulic seat from Northern Tool. At $2500 total for a new like 60" ZTR we are pleased.
