After months of talking with all of you and shopping around, I put a down payment on a CT235 at the dealer today. Here's how its set up:
  • two rear remotes
  • 7TL Front-end loader with Bob-tach
  • R4 tires (after much debate)
  • Deluxe suspension seat
  • Rear work light
  • Slow moving sign
They had to order it, so now the long wait begins. Does anyone have recent experience on the lead times for ordering on the factory? I'm figuring several weeks.....several LOOOONG weeks. I can't wait to get it here and see what it can do! Now the real fun begins.....implement shopping! :D

I plan to use it to establish a vineyard, so a sub-soiler and/or single bottom plow and a tiller are in my future. I hope I don't regret the R4s when doing that work, as the ag tires would probably be better. I figured the R4s would be better in the long run because of less soil compaction when working between the rows after the vines are established.

Anyway, thanks to all on here who provide great information everyday. You guys were super helpful!

I have a CT230 with R4s and use it to cultivate my 7 acre field. No issues.

Well, since you played it smart and got the 2 rear remotes to start with,:thumbsup: now you need to get that top and tilt kit so that you can make full use of your 3pt hitch. And don't forget, we all like those first day delivery pictures. :cool2:

Yeah, the two rear remotes were a no brainer for the $500 installed. It gives me much more future flexibility. Definitely looking to put the hydraulic top link on there.

I will definitely post some pix when it finallhy arrives!

Congrats Steel. You will find many uses for it once you get it. I seem to use mine all the time. You were looking at a BH also wasn't you?

Thanks Galaxie! Yeah I was looking at a backhoe, but I think that will have to wait until next year. I'm also finishing my basement right now, so I'm hemorrhaging cash. I couldn't stomach the backhoe too right now. I sure could use the BH though as I have about a dozen BH projects already on the list. But there is plenty to keep me busy until then. This is going to be fun! :D

Congratulations! I'm envious. :) Did you order it from the factory? How long was the lead time?

No.He had it on the lot. First I was going to get a CT225 he had. A 2010 with 20 hours and then I was reading here how it seems under powered. Same frame for CT225, 230, and 235, I decided to up to the CT235 he had. It's a 2011 with 2h. I lost $1k incentive as well as the $2k more I am paying for the move up.. I am getting the newer and improved 7TL and also ordered the 7TB backhoe which is coming from Gwinner ND and is a newer model with beefed up arms. I am waiting on it. I am just over the border from Bobcat headquarters so 3 weeks. Yours, of course, hard to say as originating in South Korea!:D They will bring tractor out later today. Also with 72" finish mower.

maybe they will just repaint one of the orange, blue or red ones so you can have it sooner!

Not too hijack the thread but mine came yesterday! Sweeet! I even mowed with the 72" RFM and R4 tires and only ripped the grass in the really wet spots. I am used to Turfs and a MMM on a SCUT so there is certainly a learning curve in that regard. I could get used to this though.:D

Here's a tease. I'll get some better shots later.

Nice.....I'll be curious how you like the backhoe as compared to your woods. A backhoe is in my future when I finally get my 235. :)

The dealer informed me that the tractor is at this shop! I don't know the story yet, but clearly he found one in the pipeline somewhere. There is no way it was ordered on the factory and arrived in 10 days.

He's waiting on the rear remotes and rear worklight. I should have it sometime next week! I can't wait.....

My Woods Backhoe was the little BH6000. I don't think there'll be any comparison at all. I have 80% clay here, too. It's really hard to dig. I had the 9" bucket any could barely go to 4' unless it was really wet. Now, the dealer is sending it with a 16" buck and, well, we'll see. Always good for backfilling, mind you.

I ordered my CT235 today. I need something for FEL and tilling for game plot preparation. Originally I looked at the CT225 but decided to go for a few more horse. I have a JD for mowing/snow blowing.
Equipped: GP Tires, Seat full suspension, Rear H Valves 0-2, Block Heater, 7TL FEL B-Tach, 60 inch tiller. I priced a Kubota 3200 with similar equipment except no quick change on bucket and it was about $1k less but did not seem like near the machine that the CT235 appears to be. The Kubota L series may be a better comp to the CT235 but I did not price those but most likely more.

I have owned a new 235 for about three months now. You will not be disappointed. You may already be aware of the battery issues with Bobcat tractors. Mine started leaking, and corroding the battery compartment, within 10 hours. I replaced the original battery with an Optima battery. Problem solved.

I think battery choice and installation are at the dealer's perogative. So, quality might vary in that regard. Some Kioti owners had the same problem. I have not. I'm in year 6 and still on the original battery, and mine sits for long periods without starting. I also have not had the leak issues. I attribute this to my dealer's choice of battery and proper installation.
