Kioti DK45
I've been comparing machines since March and have finally gotten off the fence and placed my order. I had visited all the local dealerships and narrowed it down to either a CK 30 or a Kubota L3130 both HST with FEL and BH. When I got detailed quotes I was shocked that the Kubota dealer's best price was $27.8k before taxes, about $7k higher than the Kioti. But what really turned me off of the Kubota dealer was his relating the results of recently settled law suite. He stated Kubota was going to own Kioti; and he felt sad for the Kioti owners as Kubota was not going to support them. I'm not sure if he thought I was foolish enough to believe such an absurd assertion, but I immediately wondered what lies he might make up to explain slow service or any problems that developed with tractors he sold.

Anyway, I selected the Kioti dealer and as a bonus Kioti's significantly lower prices meant I could buy a larger tractor with my money. So I spent a few hours a Saturday at the Kioti dealer and placed my order, which was:

DK45, loaded R1s, KL 1590 w/(QA, 72" bucket, toothbar, pallet forks), KB2385 w/(18" bucket, big feet), sun shade, brush guard, Woods brush bull 720 w/chain guard, hydraulic top link and a 6' box blade. By coincidence the before tax package price roughly equaled the 3130 quote, $27.8k, but I think its a lot more machine for the money. Kioti's cash back incentive was nice as it covered the cost of the forks and a shop manual.

If my wife didn't impose a 20% jewelry tax on major purchases I might have gotten a few more implements, but better she's happy too. Now I have to wait for delivery, I feel like a boy waiting for Santa to come.

Great choice on tractor and better choice on dealer! Any dealer that tries to pull this kind of junk deserves to be run out of town. Now if you want to have some fun with him, go back to him and tell him you still have not made up your mind, then ask him for specifics on the lawsuit. Tell him that you want to do a little research on the suit and if he is correct then you'll sleep a lot better. Basically push him into the corner. If nothing else, you'll have some fun; and if the world is lucky, then this guy will change his tune from now on and realize that he won't get away with statements like that.

I have one rule with my sales force (we sell candy, tobacco & auto supplies not tractors) but it our golden rule: Never say anything bad about any competitor. Violation of the rule is termination.

Hey Don, I'm likely in the dark ages on professional basketball (I've never seen a single game), but I understand that your Pistons don't particularly like my home state Pacers?! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Can't they get along and not talk bad about their competitors (both sides). Maybe not throw full beers. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Personally, I think from what I've read (yeah, I know, I'm really behind on basketball news) and seen, the players who went into the stands should be looking for a new occupation, and since it is on film, the fan who threw the beer should be looking for another sport to buy a season ticket to. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Sorry it's off the subject, but somehow I was reminded of that with this thread.

Congratulations on the Kioti!

I happen to be a Kubota owner and it really irks me when any salesman pulls stunt like that one did.

His BS got him exactly what he deserved....zero....zip.....nada.

If he is an employee of the company I wish you would call the owner and tell him exactly what happened. If I were the owner I would want to know if anybody working for me told such a lie.

I have been in business for myself for 25 years and when one of my employees pulled a stunt I really appreciated it if customers let me know about it. I think most (if not every) business owner wants to know when he has a rogue employee like that one.

Happy tractoring!

I just got off the phone with my dealer discussing ETA and adding the forks to the package. I had not told him about the Kubota dealers statement before today, but it turns out at least one other local Kioti owner was told a similar story.

I'm not sure if I was talking with the actual owner of the Kubota dealership, but since he mentioned his family had been running the dealership for 20+ years and his last name is the dealership name I assume he is at least a part owner. It’s not worth my time to follow up with them. I will just not consider doing business with them in the future.

On the plus side, it looks like I'll be taking delivery of most of the items before Christmas. I'll post some pictures when it arrives, assuming I can get off it long enough to take some pictures. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

You are going to love it ! I Have a DK45 also and it is such a great machine . Just the right size .
Our local Kubota dealer is the biggest in California( maybe the U.S.) and is also a real Princess to deal with . Her attitude was the #1 reason why I went with another brand . #2 reason was price .
Her loss & my gain ,
