Tractor
Kubota B2910, GR2100
After a lot of research and a lot of "dreaming" about compact tractors, I finally made up my mind (before I changed it again!) and purchased a B2910!

I started out looking at the BX23 because I wanted the smallest TLB I could get. When I went and checked them out I was concerned about the ground clearance. So I started looking at the B7800, B2910 and the L3130. I really wanted the L3130 but it was just too big and too heavy for my current and future plans. So it seems that the B2910 is just right...

I got (or am waiting on) the following attachments:

LA402 Loader w/ 54" bucket
Toothbar w/ replaceable teeth (on order)
Quick dis-connect for loader (on order)
Quick connect pallet forks (on order)
BL4690 hoe w/ 16" bucket (on order)
Woods 60" Box Blade
KingKutterII 60" tiller
TSC Post Hole Digger w/ 9" auger

I plan on looking for a used bush hog, landscape rake, and maybe a plow or sub-soiler.

I am really glad I found this forum because it helped me make my decision and I am sure I will be asking a lot of "newbie" questions!

Thank you all,

JP

JohnSr,

Nice looking Kubota! I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Are the rest of your items back ordered? I've sure thought a lot about getting the backhoe for my B2410. Just can't swallow the $$ cost. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Enjoy.

Thanks Kevin... most of the stuff on order will be in next week but the hoe is three weeks out. I plan on bringing it back in when the hoe arrives to get everything else done at the same time.

I sure could have used some bucket hooks today when I was unloading the tiller! Guess I need to move that up on the priority list!

Congrat's on the new Tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Is your trailer made out of Aluminum?

What is it's size?

John,

She's a keeper! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Congratulations on the new setup. Sounds like you did the smart thing and got pretty much all that you need up front, wish I had done the same. Wife won't let me buy more toys now!

That sure looks like a nice trailer also. I am curious like Ron is it Aluminum, who manufactured, what price? Brakes on both axles? As much as you can tell me I would appreciate.

Thanks and enjoy the new toy.....ummm tool I mean. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Same story here, but it was the BX22 and the 3130 wasn't out yet... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I use my B2910 for everything but grass cutting (it did that pretty good too - I had a RFM).

The more I use it the more I think it is the perfect tractor for my needs. Sounds like you did your homework and it will work out that way for you too. You will be able to do a lot with that tractor.

Enjoy the seat time and especially the results!

By the way, which quick hitch did you get? You will find the pallet forks you are getting much easier to use and better than the clamp on style I have, I bet.

If you are new to tractors like I was when I got mine, be sure to read up on tractor safety. They sure can do some things that regular vehicles can't...like backflips... /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Thanks guys... the trailer is a 16' Forest River Aluminum trailer. Paid 2500 for it. It has two 3500lb axles, both of them w/ elec brakes. Obviously it is very light weight and will allow me to carry more. I was a little concerned about the aluminum gate/ramp but I dont plan on hauling the tractor a lot and I figured I could always beef it up later. I do need to have some tie down hooks installed because I dont like the nylon straps very much... would feel better w/ chains! Also want to make some sides for it to haul some compost.

The hitch is a Quick-Draw w/ 2" and a 2 5/16" ball. Also went w/ the Tekonsha brake controller...

Looking for a used brush hog today. If I cant find one I guess I will go w/ the KK at TSC.

Good luck with your new purchase. I just got the same set up last week and already have 10 hours on it. You will love the jobs that you can do and how much easier they are on the old body. I have dug out 4 stumps and just built a water diversion ditch to keep the water from the big rains off my driveway. No way I could have done any of this by hand and still be able to stand erect. Have fun and be careful.

No kidding, you did it right. Got just about everything but someone to run the machine for you. I'm jealous. I max'd out on the tractor and will have to try to pick up attachments when ever I can. Best of luck with all those toys.

Thanks everyone... I have been planning this for a while and didnt want to "pull the trigger" until I could get the equipment I needed to get some serious work done. I had originally spec'd a 60"" MMM w/ the tractor but one of my sisters gave me a slightly used JD LT133 for my birthday! Saving 2k by dropping the MMM enabled me to get the tiller and post hole digger now instead of later... After I get good enough I hope to get a business license and insurance so I can look for some small jobs to help me pay for all of this!

I envy those of you who are getting some seat time... I dont even have 2 hours on mine yet because of all the rain we have been getting! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Anyone have any ideas for rainy weather projects?!?! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Congrats on the new equipment! That is a very comprehensive array of useful stuff. Very capable and in a size that is convenient to haul around. I look forward to a pic or two with the hoe mounted. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
