That is the whole problem, is the left over. Now you have to get another funnel out to pour the small amount left in the funnel back into your can. I did that for some time and I thought with time pouring that back all the time I would eventually see some evidence of moisture and I never did.

Pour it into a wide mouth container : You won't need another funnel that way.

Outerwear is a company that makes prefilters. We use them over our air filters when racing on dirt. They are easily removed, cleaned and then put back on for the next excersion on the track. You could buy the appropiate size for your personel funnel I would think. we have used them for several years and they hold up well in our application.
