Filling tires with WW fluid

We have tried growing Beats this year. Only a few came up, but maybe it's the start of a business opportunity.

Seemed very reasonable and easy compared to spending a weekend afternoon fiddling around with pumping RV antifreeze at $3.00/gal myself.

Agree!!! Not sure why my dealer quoted $250 to fill mine while I had it in for repairs. I need 22 gal per tire. It comes out to $5.86/gal installed.

I bought a gallon of the RV stuff and have it my freezer to test if it stays liquid. Currently on sale for $2.69/gal. at TSC. Maybe I am wasting my time trying to save $140?

Menards sells the -20 washer fluid for $1.50 regular price, and I see it on sale in the dollar range occasionally. The -50 RV fluid is $2.48 regular price by the gallon, or $149.99 in a 55 gallon drum ($2.72/gal).

In fact some of it was RainX on sale from Ace Hardware.
Got a few gal left over.

I paid $120 for 80 gal. of -20F WW fluid, plus a $10 TSC fill adapter.
Total cost of Rimguard installed (including $75 installation charge per tire) would have been $465, plus a 200 mile round trip driive.
Cost for weight difference, between Rimguard and WW fluid, plus 200 mile round trip to dealer, put Rimguard completely out of the running.for me.

After a night in the freezer, the RV stuff from TSC was still liquid. My cheap thermometer shows -10* so maybe not much of a test. I know when the transition temperature is reached it will go slushy/freeze but I cannot test at a lower temperature.

Thanks Ford850 for the Menards pricing. They have 11% off sales every couple of weeks and that makes it even more attractive.

Almost positive at this point that RG is out of the running unless I find a dealer locally that is more in the $4/gal price.

LD48750 (I think) made a good comment that the RV stuff does not say it will be liquid at -50 but that it will not burst pipes. That is OK with me as I will not be running the tractor at extremely low temperatures anyway. At least it will not expand and freeze the tire off the rim.

There is a WW fluid rated to -40 in Canada but at first look it is costly.
