Filled tire problem

/ Filled tire problem #21
I read a story in "Green Magazine" about early testing of Deere's giant of the 70's, the 6030. It was factory rated at 175HP, but most 6030's would spin a dyno at well over 225 HP. They were weighted down with all the ballast possible, and still had a hard time finding enough traction. When they did bite, sometimes the tires would grip the ground better than they gripped the rims. A Deere engineer who was also a drag racer solved the problems on their test tractor.

Screws through the rim and into the bead area of the tire.

I can't imagine an inflated tire staying "rimmed up" on the bead while slipping. ESPECIALLY a tubeless tire.

without knowing what kind of tractor you have this is hard to
imagine. Are you sure the rim turn in the tire? mark the wheel and rim with chalk, crayon, white out or what ever and try and recreate problem. Could your 2 piece rim actualy be slipping instead? the odds of rim slipping and tire not leaking have to be very slim. have someone else drve tractor so you can see whats happening. Possibly chain drawbar to a tree and slowly tighten slack and see what slips.

I'm going to say the tube is too small. If you installed fluid without a tube, then that is your problem.

I just love some of these post /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I will say your Kioti has too much horsepower and needs to be derated for the tire/rim combination /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

No really it sounds like the rim guard is between the rim and tire causing the slippage. I see two fixes.
1. Dismount tire, clean rimguard off rim/tire and add tubes to hold fluid only. This will keep fluid off rim/tire.
2. Add bead locks.... I would not do this one on a tractor.

You need to take that supercharger off and turn the fuel down. Your making too much power..... Couldn't resist. That's an old drag racing problem with slicks. We actually ran screws into the beads to cure it. Never heard of it on a tractor but I have no doubt your observation on the lubrication is the likely culprit. Curious to see the replies on this one.

GEEZ Sorry but I think you made a very stupid move there on a wet slipping tire rim. $50 or less fix. Hope that cold shower felt good.
