Perhaps try actually reading my post this time. Just barely enabling an engine to start is not the only objective. Reducing wear and smoke is the main one for me, and for anyone not wanting to wear their engine out prematurely. Nor does a block or coolant heater take anywhere as long to work…

Your post was read, more than once.

It is just that my information, obtained over many years, is in conflict with your statement.

Tarp and small electrical heater do work. The block gets warmed, the oil and radiator are warmed, the battery gets warmed as well as a lot of the electrical components are warmed. Starting is just as normal.
An ash pan filled with hot coals also works.
