Ferris scalping

Those tubeless tires are a real problem with a lot of zero turns. When I was repairing mowers as a side job at my home, I had a customer who was coming into my shop about once a week. He was doing custom mowing. I finally convinced him to just put on sold tires. Problem solved.

Nothing like putting a 11 or 13 inch tire that naturally wants to pull the beads loose from the rim on a
4-5-6 inch rim with little pressure and small air volume and then wonder why they don't hold air.

Check your frame for cracks. My Grasshopper 428D did the same thing when the frame cracked.

It looks like the driveway is a higher elevation than the grass. Turning on a short slop will typically scalp grass on the lower side. Don't turn there. Turn on the driveway and ride the slope down.

My country clipper did something like that when one of the four hangers fell off.

Not liking the scalping at the turnaround.
Thinking it's the suspension View attachment 3825594

You have the 4 wheel suspension on the IS800, and this appears the deck is dropping on one side when you turn. The shocks are adjustable (on mine and should be on yours) so make sure they are the same setting. Then the tire pressure could cause this too.

You are transferring the weight front to back when doing turns, more so when going fast and stoppng quickly, so maybe try three point turns instead.

I have had several Ferris lawn mowers over the years and currently have the ISX 3300. All the Ferris mowers that I have had would do the turning scalp. It does appear to help if you keep the rear air pressure on the high side. I keep the rear tires full of slime for this issue. I don’t like the slight scalping that a Ferris is known for but I live everything else. The air seat and the shocks on all four corners are amazing.

Thank you. I'm mechanically inclined and did go over the deck recently to set cut height. Was way off from the dealer.
I have the 2024 version of your mower. Those marks sorta look like tire ripping up the grass. Are you sure its scalping?? If you're positive its scalping then your deck needs to be leveled side to side and front to back. Mine is slightly higher in the rear about a 1/4 to a half inch. Another thing, maybe your suspension is loose on one side and its dipping when you turn. What is your mowing height?? That looks pretty short. This time of year around these parts with hot sun I cant cut short like that, our lawn would turn brown in 1 day. We mow at 3.75" and have 15 acres to cut so I'm full speed the whole way and I don't get that unless I'm taking turns too fast.

Yep agreed Bobrown as I said a few posts ago. I cut at 4 1/2 or 5 lately - we have had a total of 1.5" of rain in last 50 days and 90 plus temps at least 10 of those days so now we have a desert even with cutting high.
