Thanks Granddad4 and TMGT.............another senior moment. My "IIRC" was wrong as you pointed out. Geeze, after reviewing the FEL manual, that's what it says...it's the last thing one does. Chit, that was a stupid and expensive mistake. I don't even want to know what new panels/grill would cost.

The tractor is in my garage now, the FEL is up on its stands, the parts are laid out on a table and I will survey the damage and the repair needed tomorrow.........enough for today.

Thanks Granddad4 and TMGT.............another senior moment.

The more senior I get, the more of those moments I have, too. At least I still successfully get dressed on my own in the morning. Most of the time anyhow. :D Glad you were able to get it untangled.

It's frustrating. I managed to get mine into only one of the side panels. It missed one of the rear lower guides and got cockeyed. I caught **** also getting it off and back on correctly by myself too.
I was able to take the panel off and hammer the dent out with a block of wood as backer and hammer. It's not noticeable but to me.
I had less than 40 hours on it when this happened.

I removed my FEL once on dirt. Never again. The stands were down, but one settled more than the other. Now it's always on concrete. Hope it isn't too high priced for ya.

End Of Story......Kubota built the grill and side panels out of good stuff. The cave in and dents were pushed out by hand and some had to be tapped out with some care using a ball peen hammer.

Unless I have another senior moment, the FEL mounts on/off just like the directions indicate....a piece of cake.... if you are on level concrete.

Thanks again y'all

Just curious, but:
Could someone put enough ballast in the bucket so that no weight is on the loader arms, and then use hydraulics to lift the arms?
How do you lift the stands if it's not pinned in? Isn't there weight on them until loader arms take load off them?

That's what I would have done, and how I got it would be to throw a 2x12 in the bucket ( so that only the end is in the bucket and it extends outward like a boom pole ) and drove my truck on it.

There was a post a few weeks ago where someone had a brand new BX and they had done all sorts of damage to the tractor and maybe bent the loader up some, never heard how that one came out, so don't feel to bad. I feel like an expert taking my loader off and on, it usually takes me less than 5 minutes but maybe a need to slow down and be a little more carefull.

That's an easy fix. It doesn't appear jammed in place. Have two friends grab a loader arm, pick up, and back the tractor out. While holding the arms, tilt it up high enough to pull out and lock the loader legs. The loader isn't that heavy. On my last B2620, I'd lift up the arms from in between myself to get the loader on my homemade dolly.
