Tonight I welded two beer cans together with the TIG. How's that for useful?
I'd say that's super useful if they both still have beer in them ;)

There's actually a mig welder in the shed but I haven't used it much. Maybe this is the project to start learning...

LOL! I'd have to change clothes for sure. I only had 2 blow throughs on this one and that is after probably 20 tries less successful. I can only imagine what a 2000 degree arc would do with pressurized Miller Lite. I'll have nightmares about it.

Would this be an appropriate controller for my 24HP machine? I'll have to do some plumbing but some of the hoses are shot so I think that's inevitable. This looks to have regen on the dump and float on the other spool. Is there anything else I should be paying attention to when shopping for these?

I also wonder if such a controller could be mounted horizontally such that the hoses enter from below and the joystick is parallel to the ground and points toward the driver's seat. Do these things have an "orientation"?

You can mount them any way you want as long as you know the orientation.

That's just like mine. Price has gone up, but I really like it. You can set it up for power beyond as well. Mine is mounted very near horizontal. I used a C-clamp to find the most ergonomic angle befoer drilling the mount holes. BTW, the warranty is voided if you paint it so I didn't. Probably will paint it eventually since its been on for nearly four years.
