4120 Hydro FEL Auger

I've had the 4120 since 2013 and it's been very reliable 850~ hrs now. I've got the self leveling loader and have finally gotten around to ordering an Auger with the deere bracket. I've planned on running it off the 3rd scv lever by the seat. A deere mechanic recommended I use a bungee cord on the lever to keep it spinning while applying down force on the arms. This is a bit sketchy by my thinking. I'd like to know how others are using their smaller tractors to control FEL auger drives. TIA.

I don't bother with using a 3rd function for my (homemade) hydraulic auger. I use the curl circuit for auger motor control. The motor is in a gimbaled cage and gravity keeps it pointed toward the center of the Earth unless its needed otherwise. That leaves me with loader arm control for float or downforce and left/right 'curl' control for forward, stop, or reverse digging, all on a single joystick. What could be easier ?
