Extra Step

My age and condition have conspired to make it hard to climb on board my tractor [JD 4110]. It seems simple enough to add a step under the running board. I suspect I could make one of pipe or stock metal but there are probably ready made steps for boats, RVs, playgrounds, etc. Have any of you done this or seen a good example? All ideas welcome.

There are a few post son the GTT forum about adding t hem to the older 2520's and 4110's, welding was required though, you might search there for some ideas.

Don't know if there is prefab one but I would suggest to make side wall with flexible material like rubber (belt or mud flap) so you don't get it bend when you go over uneven ground. something like this below

IMO, when the reason for wanting the extra step is because of one's age and condition, I would want a rigid step and potentially add a grab bar.

If you can't find a DIY option, a local welding shop could easily fab one. Got to be cheaper than a bad fall.

I made this one as well as one for my last 2 tractors , but would have bought one if there was one that would fit for less than $100.
