Tractor
2006 - Kubota L3130
Finally, I have made up my mind...after playing around with various brands of loaders and backhoes, I decided to proceed with Kubota brands on both. Got a good deal that helped.

Today, I committed to purchase a new L3130 (DT, 4WD, R4's) with a LA723 loader (quick attach) with a BH90 backhoe. I am purchasing from a remote dealer to take advantage of significant price breaks. I had a deal worked out with a local dealer who increased his price by $1500 at the last minute. Other locals were really never close.

I discussed with a local dealer. They made no bones about it, they have their price for a new tractor and will not waiver. They stated that they have not problem and would be interested in performing all of my service and warranty work, as required. I hope this works out...

Any others had any problems buying from a remote dealer? Anything that I should look out for?

So far, everything is as advertised. I have tried to discuss most things via e-mail so I do have a written trail. I am just a little nervous buying something without seeing it first...

If all goes well, the tractor is scheduled to be delivered next week.

EVALURATOR: You made the right choice, and it will become a dream come true when you start using the L3130, which is well designed, and a true quality tractor, that you will enjoy for many years, and wonder how you ever got along without it. This is a testimonial from a 30 year owner of Kubotas.

I am located in Hattiesburg, MS. About 70 miles north of Gulfport.

Thats one reason I want a tractor. A lot of clean-up yet to do as a result of Katrina. 110+ MPH winds for 4-hours tends to cause a lot of damage...

Eval,

Well now's a fine time to ask! Just kidding. The only down side to a remote dealer is not being able to have the nit picky things fixed. The selling dealer is usually more accommodating on those deals. One the other side, if they are selling a lot of tractors and shipping them, they don't want a black eye from a disgruntled buyer. The internet has wised them up. Due to that, they may just give the shipping tractor a very close inspection. More so than the local guy who will just fix it when YOU drag it back in.

It should be all good. Enjoy the ride.

If your 3130 is anything like mine you will not need to take it back in as long as you do your own maintenance. Enjoy, it's a fine tractor!

My new tractor was delivered this evening, right before dark. New L3130 with a LA723 QA loader and a Kubota BH90 backhoe. Had just enough time before dark to inspect and test most of it.

I backed up to a pine stump that I have been burning and pulled it right out of the ground with the backhoe. The BH90 is very impressive. I was told that one of these powered from the tractor hydraulics would be very slow. This is definately not the case. Putting along at 1500 RPM, it is plenty fast. Rated speed would be too fast.

I will give it a few tougher tests tomorrow. Right now, I am very happy with the tractor and my experience with purchasing from a remote dealer.

Thanks for all of the information that I used in making my decision.

Thanks,

NB
