What if a Trump-like candidate wins?
Who knows. Sane people are highly outnumbered by greenies and lobbyists, so they will keep pushing for emissions reductions while ignoring what all the middle east and China does to the environment. Only north Americans get punished for everything.

Well that was about as stupid as it gets. Anyone knows you deprogram DEF, not cut the wires and remove it , OMG…. 🤣
You should have heard it running as they kept trying to work it, LOL
It sounded like it was going to blow up at any moment.

I wonder how many people here even have any idea how many issues the EGR, SCR, and DeF systems have caused and cost? EGR coolers are notorious for developing coolant leaks.
Every technology involves a 'learning curve.' I wonder how many here are on 'dial-up?' or ever used a rotary dial phone, or know how AGB's first phone system worked?

We all realize that vehicle exhaust can kill you - it has long been a preferred means of suicide - it leave the corpse a little blue, but relatively intact (as opposed to the 'leapt from a rooftop' corpse, for instance).

These discussions lead me to recall the term "Spaceship Earth" coined famously by Buckmaster Fuller & Kenneth Boulding (1966) - as opposed to the ride at Epcot, but a model of the International Space Station orbiting us at the moment.

Can you image the astronauts agreeing to fire up some diesel powered device in that space station?
Now, we are all in the garage with the doors closed trying to breathe with your truck running and frantically trying to figure out if there's any way we can live with fossil fuel exhaust! Hey, I made a new metaphor you!;)

"I stated all this and didn't make it political at all."

Sorry, we'se 'people' whenever we speak with one another its political - The word "political" evolved from the Greek politikos ("of citizens") and the related polites ("citizen") - it's what we do, it's how we do it; it's who we are. Done nicely and honestly, it's a wonderfully democratic thing.

As with our attempts to live with fossil fuel emissions, it's been a work in progress. Give it time. Assuming we have the time, of course.

The "Spaceship Earth" theory is a metaphor, popularized by Kenneth Boulding (1966) and Buckminster Fuller, describing Earth as a fragile, finite, and isolated vessel with limited resources. It posits that humanity behaves as a crew needing to work together, managing the planet's systems sustainably to prevent depletion and pollution.

"Government is never your friend"
Simple credo / retort, in every sense of the word.

I don't know abut that. Elon Musks made billions, trump's making billions, the Military Industrial Complex is looking at another 200 billion investment as a ressult of the latest "Peace President War."

Maybe its just those of us w/o lobbyists who feel as do you.

Read all about it!

It’s a step in the right direction, but we’re still stuck with EGR coolers, DPFs and a slightly neutered DEF.
But we’ll take it! (y)

I was hoping everything post 2011 (DEF) would be gone, or maybe even post 2007 (DPF).
