Engine

I've never had trouble, nor have I read any posts that I can recall where someone had issues with the engine. Then again, I've not heard of anyone with even 1000 hours on the engine either.

My only gripe is that in 30 years and 7 different diesels (Mercedes, VW, and Ford), this engine ranks far and a way as the hardest starting in cold weather. Aside from that, my engine has no discernible oil consumption, good torque and reasonable noise levels.

Interesting. Our 1523 has never failed us. All we do is cycle the glows, depending on how cold, up to 25 seconds, give it just a slight bit of throttle, and crank, if fires right up.

Wonder why the GC owners seem to have an issue. Ours is a late 07 1523, got 130 hours on it now. 1000 hours will not be too hard to attain.

Thanks - I guess there is no reason to dicuss it - maybe I'm to used to talking sleds (snowmobiles).

I'll look for a picture at Iseki, can't find one here. Try to figure out what indirect injection is?

Thanks again.

I hadn't started my 2310 in about 2 months, not even a charger on the battery, so I ckecked up on it today since it has been cold here in Ohio. Turned the key to glowplugs for about 10 secs. and turned it to start and it fired right up no problems. The only hard part of starting over auto based diesels is you are the glowplug controller.
