Engine Whistle at high rpms

Im getting an almost whistling at about 2600 rpm on my t 474...anyone have any ideas on the cause? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Does it have clogged air filter whistle?

It does not have turbo, so we can rule that out. I will check the air filter and clean if necessary. Thanks for the suggestions, that would be a easy fix if that is all that it is.

I checked and cleaned the air filter. It did not solve the problem. It doesn't start to whistle until the rpm's are at about 2500 tp 2600 hundred. I've also checked the belts and they are within specs. This just started to happen after I was doing loader work where I was moving dirt, so the air filter made sense, but it was not that dirty. The tractor only has 100 hours on it. Thanks again if you can offer any more suggestions.

Sounds to me like you have an intake hose leak. Check to make sure all the clamps are tight.

Thanks for the suggestions, I was able to tighten all the hose clamps, it did not work at first, but as I continued to work the tractor the whistling slowly went away. So I will update later to see if the whistling stays away. Thanks for all those who made suggestions, it's greatly appreciated. I'm new to the tractor world and to this forum, but am very thankful for all those who posses tractor knowledge...thats a great tool, especially to newbies like me.

Thanks for sharing. I don't either, but due to my tractor being auto throttle, when I'm driving from one destination to another in all three gears, the tractor will at times reach those numbers, and until yesterday it's never made that whistling noise. I was inquiring as to what could be causing it...it did go away, but when the tractor cooled, it came back...its still a head scratcher to me. Thanks again.

I normally run it at 2,500 - right on the green/red line - when snow blowing or mowing.

By chance does your radiator cap type may whistling noise if over heating or defected?
