Kubota BX2200
I was asked a question about my BX2200 yesterday that I could not answer. Mine does not have a factory tachometer and I am adding a TinyTach. The spec sheet for the BX2200 list "Rated Revolutions" as 3200 RPM. Is that the engine maximum recommended RPM or does the governor limit the safe RPM which could be above 3200 RPM?
My son just purchased a BIG Kubota that lists the "Rated RPM" as 2700, but his factory tachometer does not have a red line and it will run well over 2700 RPM.

I think that is the RPM that the PTO's turn their rated speed. Mine will rev a little over 3400 rpms. I still run mine wide open when mowing.

They are regulated so you won't over rev them even when you run full throttle. When mowing, running PTO powered stuff, we run the rated RPM for 540, otherwise we run at the speed to do the job. We have transported ours wit the throttle wide open, but usually a little under.
