The manual says if between 14 degrees and 77 that I can use SAE 20 10W-30 & 15W-40.

Living in New England, the temperatures are below and above those ranges. I'm an AMSOIL guy and would like to use their oil but am not sure which to go with. Any suggestions? LX2610.

I use their 0w40 in my diesels, and 0w30 in my road vehicles.

I've M1 0w30 European diesel rated oil in both the Kubota B2601 and the Isuzu generator driver. VW TDIs are probably in the millions running around with 5w30 diesel oil.

I am not an oil expert, for my Truck, Toyota says to use 0W-20 so I put in AMSOIL's 0W-20.

Why the variance here for the tractor?

put in some 0W-40 of 5W40 if you operate it during the winter, Thats what I put in mine, and it calls for 10w-30 ... as long as it is diesel engine oil for a diesel engine and your operating temperature are within the specific oil temperature chart you are good.

degrees Fahrenheit?? the operating temperature of the 15W-40 is way more then 77degree F ....15W-40 temperture chart is from -31 to 104 degree F

why not a full synthetic diesel rated 5/40 to cover your bases?

I see, they went pretty conservative on the temperature but its good. You can use anything between these 10w-30, 5W-30, 0w-30, 0w-40 or 5w-40 (even if not listed). If you only change your oil once a year and have extreme flux of temperature, go with the 0W-40 of even 5W-40 you have the best of both worlds. I personally always want the last number to be 40 in a diesel engine I use 0W-40 despite its price because I am in the same situation you are, having summer temperature in the 40 degrees Celsius and -30 degree Celsius in the winter. Many folks say the internal temperature doesn't go over 30 degrees Celsius regardless of the external temperature they may have a point and since your manual say you can put 0W-30 you can.

fist number = cold temperature viscosity coefficient and Last number = Hot temperature viscosity coefficient
