Richie's is an excellent dealership, as is Dooley's in Athens. I deal with both of them from time to time. Dooley's is where I have found my Kubota parts for the best price. I went to Dooley's (for the Kubota machine) after bypassing another dealer, Tyler Brothers in Maryville for a similar poor service experience.

John Deere's dealer locator on their website lists five official JD agricultural equipment dealerships within a 75 mile radius of Waynesville, NC, and Bypass is not one of them. So JD didn't have much of a dealership franchise hammer to swing on this situation on your behalf, and all they could do was step in and try to salvage their relationship with you. Gratifying to hear they did just exactly that, even though technically and legally they clearly didn't have to. That's what brand loyalty is all about, and it makes me feel better about driving Green.

As proven time and time again, with real estate it's location, location, location, and with tractors it's dealership, dealership, dealership! Unfortunately, it's a lot easier to tell if a property is in a good location than it is to tell if a tractor dealership is going to treat you right after the sale.

Hey picker77 - It's By Pass Power Equipment. I searched with the zip code, 28786, and By Pass is the first one listed, in Waynesville. Here's a link to the JD dealer locator page I found:

That's interesting. I stand partially corrected. On the same website I did a search on "Agricultural Equipment" dealers in Waynesville, NC and it came up with this:

No Bypass is listed. That's why I posted what I did.

But I just searched again for "Compact Utility Tractor" dealers and it came up with the list you found, which DOES in fact include Bypass. Odd that a dealer would be listed for tractors but not for agricultural equipment.
