Just curious, is the bucket thumb on the BH hydraulic or static? Pictures? I've been contemplating adding one to mine. Dunno if I need it or not yet really as I just got my backhoe, and have only pulled one stump with it so far. I may build one just because I can... he hee!.

I just came back from my local Mahindra dealer. Was quoted on the same package (eMax 25, Bucket, Backhoe/Thumb/12", 60"MMM) $26,550. I believe I was quoted list price. I didn't bother to haggle with the sales person because I didn't have a reference point...but now I do and I'm ready to discuss pricing. Tell me, on your pricing, what are the various discounts you are noting that are $600 & $1,000? Also, what is driving the different price between the "cash" price and "rock bottom"?

OK, it took me a few minutes to spot it, but I now see that "Value" pricing @ 0% incurs a $200 penalty to increase from 60 months to 72 months, and a $500 penalty to increase from 60 months to 84 months. $500 over 84 months is an effective interest rate of 0.6%. If they just sold it that way it wouldn't make customers feel as though they are getting scammed.

Gary, they leave it to the dealers to package the financing anyway they wish. It is tricky. In theory I could just price everything at 0/84 and tell people there is no cash discount and it is free money. That would make a lot of folks happy, but would not be fair to the cash buyer, in fact the cash buyer would just go elsewhere. I can price everything at cash price and then show clear add-ons for 0%, but folks really do not want to be told that 0% actually cost them, they much prefer to just know that the cash buyer gets a discount and to think in terms of discount vs no discount as opposed to looking at a cost increase for 0%.
I like seeing customer input on this sort of thing, it helps the dealers to try to figure out the best way to package the programs.

I picked up an emax 22 the other day with a FEL. Was like $13,500. Nice little machine. Only have 4 hours on it so far but hooked up a 3ph post digger with a 9" auger and it works great. Been moving manure and grading, no issues. 4 wheel drive works great even with R4 tires in the mud.

Seems to be best bang for your buck. Some of the attachments are a bit expensive though. They quoted me like 7 grand for a backhoe, which I just couldn't justify.
Mahindra needs to do a better job with the website and marketing though. If they did a better job communicating they would sell even more units.

When it comes to tractor websites, John Deere is superior. I really wonder if the web designers at Mahindra have ever sat in a tractor.

I have a question guys. I and my dad have a new eMax 25 with a FEL and 60" MMM. My/my dad's tractor is a hydrostatic model. I took the tractor for a drive around our neighborhood - High gear range and high engine RPM. I noticed the tractor has a very loud whining sound coming from the transmission. The hydrostatic fluid level is where is needs to be in the sight glass in back. Do your eMax tractors whine when driven in the high range? I was just curious. Thanks for any input. I/my dad have/has had a chance to really get out and work with the tractor yet.

I don't have an Emax but Im sure one of the guys that do can give you the specifics but Hydros in general have a whine - especially in a higher gear. Both my Hydros "whine" normally - took a bit to get used to it coming from Gear drives.

My eMax 22 whines too. My Husqvarna hydrostatic lawn tractor whines also. Must be the nature of the beast. My 9N has a gear whine too, because of straight cut gears as I understand it. Hey anesthes, my dealer said a 'hoe for the eMax would run around $5 grand, $7k seems very high.

Yes, check a different dealer. I didn't buy one, but was told $5900 for the Max28 hoe.

Hrmm.. I think $5k is still too much for a backhoe attachment. When you figure an entire backhoe from harbor freight is under $3k

I'll probably pick up a used 3ph backhoe eventually, and make some brackets to mount to the tractor the same way the OE hoe mounts. I often see backhoes on craigslist for 12-1500, many PTO driven.
