eMax 22/25 info?

I went to Dealer again, and if everything is EQUAL, Kubota with 2 year extended warranty and 60 mo. 0% and PA tax $22,260.
The eMax 25 same equipment with 60 mo. and 0% is $22.039 WITH 5 YEAR warranty, plus you can get 72 mo. and 84 mo. 0% to lower payment, price increases $200 for 72 mo. and $500 for 84 mo.
Only unknown is my Kubota price included insurance and no idea of insurance from Mahindra.
Actually starting to lean toward eMax, does have greater loader and backhoe ratings.
Local Kubota prices are even higher, almost $3000..........
All Mahindra are tier 4 and none will have particulate chambers.

The thing that may be minor to some, but a possible deal-breaker for me is the ground clearance with the MMM in place. I remember reading Kubota is rather proud of that.. I'm going to measure my Massey, and then look at both the BX and the eMax and see.. I don't take the mower deck off as much as I should, and it drags on things around here..

There was NO $931 savings, Dealer price was for eMax 22 not 25, but it does show how much 3 HP is worth.

So, tired of my Husky being 6 years old and having more than it's fair share of issues. I have been looking at the JD 700 series with 3 cylinder diesel. Hos does the Madindra eMAX 22 compare? I can't find much in the way of details on the Mahindra website and the youtube teaser wasn't very helpful either. Also looking at the Kubota GR2120. I don't need the FEL, would be helpful, but don't need it. Just mowing about 1 acre. Thoughts? Thanks, B.

The Husky is an MTD piece of crap. With only one acre an upgrade to a Mahindra is a decision that should be made carefully. But in the past if I saw a tractor on the side of the road without a FEL I looked at as "Why upgrade from my MTD for a 3PH?"

It didn't really buy me anything.

The eMax is definately more tractor with a heavier duty mower, but I would also assume that the eMax is also a bit more money. The 700 Series Deere is a garden tractor, and the eMax is one of the heavier sub compact tractors on the market. I would get some pricing and if the price is close, the eMax would be the one to buy as it is lot heavier duty tractor and mower than the 700 Series John Deere.

I also looked at the GR2120, still problems with transmissions, the Deere are pricey and a 1 series is about the same price, I do like the Mahindra eMax 22 or 25 because whichever you get you can add FEL, backhoe, tiller etc. unlike the Kubota BX series, if you want the backhoe you have to buy the BX25D from the start. I have a B2920 now and adding the backhoe is probably $8000, but with three properties now to maintain and ideas to remodel or landscape something at all properties, and not wanting to trailer one tractor around to all three, another tractor now makes sense and maybe I should have gone with the smaller BX25 originally because of the implements, but still would need another tractor now anyway. I do like the eMax and will probably purchase soon but with todays economy will use the 0% for 84 months to keep monthly cost down and if things improve pay off early.
Of course having my own business which is NOT 40 hours a week, no time to move equipment every time I need to mow or plow in winter. Properties are all 'family' and no help (son moved 1200 miles away) and I am getting too old to use mower or dig holes, If I can use 60" deck to mow 1/2 acre on one property in 20 minutes verses 1 hour I have saved time I probably didn't really have to waste.

For such a large company, and considering that dealers now have eMax's IN STOCK, Mahindra's website and YouTube marketing is awful in regards to the eMax. It's as if they don't have a marketing dept, or if they do, it's staffed by members of the local high school marketing class. C'mon Mahindra, get it together!

The quote I received had a cash price and a financing price. The cash price versus the "0%" financing was almost a $2,000 delta. How they're legally allowed to call this 0% financing is beyond me. At least they're up-front about it though.

Most all 0% financing, be it cars or tractors, have the option of opting out and getting a discount. For anyone to think that 0% really costs nothing is what makes me wonder. It is never free, it is often included, and that is a big distinction. And if a brand does not give you the option of a discount if you pay cash, that does not mean the 0% is free...someone always pays the price for money even if it is in the background.

I think we just really want to fool ourselves and think we are getting the best price and free financing. I'm the same way.

With Mahindra, a dealer can structure their pricing however they want. We can list all prices at 0% and apply discounts if 0% is not needed. We can list all at cash and apply a surcharge for 0%. The former works better than the latter. We as consumers like discounts, we hate surcharges!

Well, the JD 700 series can get up to like 13,000.00+ MSRP. So they ain't cheap either. The GR2120 is a fair amount cheaper. I would not even consider a backhoe at this level. Not with the type of soil's I have here. ****, Case 580's have a hard time digging a hole on this hill, which would prolly be better called a rock. A FEL yes. A small appropriately sized blade or yard rake yes. The MMM is a definite yes. B.

Here's a quote I just got on an eMax 22 with a loader and R4s from our local dealer:
Cash price: $12,072
Financed: $12,672 (same price for all payback periods) 2.99% for 60 months = $228 per mo.
0% price 60 month: $ 13,672 / $228 per mo. Price varies by payback period.

If you pencil it out, you'll note there is no difference in the 0% and 2.99% in the total amount paid.

Another nearby dealer was about $85 less on the cash price and the financed prices were the exact same.

Exactly ODT. The only way a 0% deal is good (at least the way Mahindra prices it) is if you put little or nothing down and then do not pay it off early. It then becomes pretty cheap. Also, if you add a backhoe the cost for doing 0% does not go up (the payment does, the "surcharge" does not) so that makes it even better. Therefore, my suggestion on 0% is give little or nothing down and load it up with everything you want and then never pay it off early.

Alternately, if the package is bare tractor or just tractor/loader, you can get all cash discounts and still finance at the standard rate of 4.99%. Put maximum down payment and pay off early and you are ahead of the game.

Some people use 0% and pay off early....not a good deal.

Good information and makes sense. Planning on early payoff, likely 48 mo. or less) so the 0% option wouldn't work. We are a working farm so we are sales tax exempt so no issues there.

Still want to look at an LS J2023 before I pull the trigger but the price I was given on it was almost a $1,000 more than the Mahindra and don't know if he can or will come down on it (making it even harder to decide if he does!). Supposed to get one on the truck in about a week or so, if not will have to travel a bit to find another dealer, this one is about a 20 min. drive away.

Edit: wife reminded me it's been 3 weeks since I've been there and no call from them and no one is answering the phone there today.

If you are not set on the Emax you may want to price the Kubota a bit more - The BX25D with FEL, Backhoe, Thumb, 12" bucket, 60" MMM, loaded tires can be purchased for $19,400 + tax so you have a 2K difference on the little one - that buys a lot of implements. I also don't personally feel the warranty is an issue, I have owned several machines and the most I replaced was a safety switch under warranty (think they said it was $20 if I bought it). Just saying this to give you more info, not saying anything is wrong with Emax by the way...

Went ahead and pulled the trigger on an eMax 22 with loader, quick hitch and a 4' sliding blade for $13,142 (that's the 60 mo. conventional finance price) but with the accessories it qualifies for $300 cash back and doesn't include my down payment. Loading the rear tires is $58 extra, both tires, not calcium or beet juice but will add some weight I won't have to move around by hand.

Was pretty impressed how heavy duty that "little" tractor really is. They did cut back on some things like using plastic for the hood and side panels from the Max 22 but I liked the dual peddle hydro vs. the treadle peddle on the Max 22 and the general layout of the controls. It is Tier 4 compliant without any add-ons like their bigger tractors have. I did sit and drive both and the Max 22 wasn't showing me any more than I was getting on the eMax that would justify the higher price.

Sign all the paperwork on Monday and they can deliver it Weds. evening (it's Sat. today). Dealing with Specialty Tractor in Lancaster, OH, good folks and a growing dealership. They are building a new huge service building for the Mahindras and their RV business. Will post some pictures once we get it here.
