Electric trailer brakes

Well, that is certainly a bummer! We WERE looking at the new (2017) Highlander, but I think we'll pass now.

Why? Just add the diode as the instructions call for?

Because you have no trailer brake lights.

You still have trailer brake lights, they just won't come on if you hit the trailer brakes independently using the controller. Not a big deal, a lot of installs won't do that either unless it's a factory harness.

I like the brake controller I put on my Dodge Ram that plugs in the ALDL port and gets more information like vehicle speed when it applies the trailer brakes. They also have an antilock version.
