Electric diverter valve problem

That looks like the valve that I just put on my tractor.

The attachment is for a diverter with P1 & P2 on the top and labeled very similar to what the pictures show. Model code is also kind of similar.

I agree its probably just a plumbing issue.

Air test it to figure out what is what and let us know

I tried blowing air through the diverter and it seems like the middle ports are indeed the intake ports and energizing the solenoid diverts the flow as it should. I just need a few 90 degree elbows so I can connect everything to the correct outlets and my grapple should be operational.

So thanks everyone for all the help! :)

That's the oddest configuration of those type diverters I've ever seen; they were originally designed so that they could be STACKED for more options - like this pair on my 580B. Physically I don't see how that'd even be possible with yours.

In MY pic, non-energized flow goes in the bottom and out the top - then you have the option of energizing EITHER diverter, which sends/returns the bottom inlet to whichever CENTER ports got energised. ( the writhing bundle of snakes is just to keep it as low profile as possible)

I have another project that'll have FOUR of those valves stacked (if I LIVE long enough  )

Your pics look to me like yours should be EXACTLY the same; I only hope you got a good deal on it... Steve

Fjell
Thanks for letting us know what the potential solution was to your problem

Buckit
Companies make both styles of diverters, some that can be sandwiched together like yours and some like the one fjell has. If you require is one additional function either style will work

Good to know, O&S, thanks - filing that info away so I don't shoot myself in the foot when that next diverter project gets to the top of the list  ... Steve

I reconnected the hydraulic hoses - and it still doesn't work! After the air test I felt pretty confident that it should work, but once I had connected everything, refilled some hydraulic oil the result is that energizing the solenoid does absolutely nothing. Any suggestions on what my next step should be?(maybe selling the tractor... :cautious:)

is the solenoid valve adjustable internally? could be a simple adjustment that the QC guy in shenzen didn't make & the high psi & viscosity of the oil is kicking off your pressure relief on the energized side? Does the manual override work & is it in the right position? (not engaged) Or, since you were getting air flow, (at the valve?), are the energized hoses clear to the grapple? Maybe a check valve is in the circuit somewhere & reversed?

Does it work when de-energized?
Does that one have the manual over ride that you can push.
With the tractor shutdown with your hand on it and switching it on and off do you hear and feel the plunger moving.
