Nothing really on the length. I just would not want to cut up a solid run of steel and piece anything in.

Wasn't intending to cut up anything in the A-frame. Just going to add supports and move the jack back, I think. I need to take a few more measurements on the truck/hitch ball/tailgate to see how much it needs to move. If it has to move back too much, then I might need to switch gears and go to a sidewinder style.

Slowzuki - I get why having it more forward helps, but interfering with the tailgate is a bigger issue, especially if it is only 6" or so.

I should also mention that the hack welding job done on this currently is a bit sketchy, so fixing that up will be a side benefit and a good thing...
