Purchased the Echo DHS-3006 56V pruning saw last week and got a chance to use it this weekend picking up downed limbs. I make maple syrup and my wood fired evaporator prefers smaller sized wood, about wrist size, for a hot, fast fire. This little pruner is pretty awesome for what I need it to do. I can hold the limb in one hand and cut the limbs to length while standing straight up which is so much easier on the back. Battery life is fantastic. Used it for a good amount of time yesterday and when I checked the battery status it was still at 75% charge.

One of those would be EXTREMELY handy for "streamlining" branches before they go into the chipper. I normally keep my gas top handle saw and a pair of lopping shears close for such use.

It would be great for that task, highly recommend.

I bought a Ryobi 6" one from WhatNot for $38. It's a 18volt one and I used a 4ah battery on it and cut a whole tree up into sections for burning. Branches included. Battery was at 1/2power when done. The main section of the tree was about 5.5 inches so 6 was just enough but it did make it easy to do it all. I was impressed with it's power.
