I had a good find on Craigslist Monday, An everything attachments xtreme duty deluxe box frame disc.

It has been used, the 16" notched discs are excellent still but needs bearings. The rest of the disc is very good and of a very robust build.

Besides needing bearings I drug it around anyways. The disc can be very aggressive or adjusted to just tickle the soil. EA built a darn good disc.

Good buy.

I would soak the rusted screw-adjustable gang-angle shafts with Blaster or Kroil penetrating oil first thing. Then grease after a week. If the shafts have been ignored, probably the grease zerks have been ignored as well.

I live in Florida. Supposedly waterproof marine grease is readily available. I have not experienced marine grease having greater longevity on equipment then common lithium + moly grease which is the only grease I use.

16" diamer pans are exclusively for garden use, not enough weight for field use. Even in the garden you will likely use the pans at most aggressive adjustment most of the time.

Considering the heavy box frame, if you want more penetration consider adding a 50 pound gym weight or a section of railroad track over the FRONT gang.

I did soak the adjusting cranks with blaster, cause I'm out of kroil. They are rusted but with what little I played with them turning the crank was easy. A slathering of grease on them is not a bad idea.

I was curious about the 16" discs for field work, two passes on the aggressive setting I had 8" plus nicely worked soil that had not been touched for over a year....A feat with my clay.

Could not find replacement bearings that were greasable in that shaft size. We grease the big offset twice a day when using it.
