Driver's License... What Vehicle did you use?

Advice from best auto mech instructors at MCC. "Don't operate a customer's e-brake unless testing it. If they don't use it regularly it's likely to stick somehow, leaving you to fix it for free if not part of the bid/job."

Test question I puzzled over: At a stop-light red's position is at: a) top, b) middle c) bottom. I got it wrong at least once.
I can understand that first part, but my question about who uses it was still valid. Checking the parking brake is supposed to be part of our annual inspection yet I doubt it happens often... for the reason you cited.

The newer RAM and Jeep vehicles can be set to apply the parking brake for you every time you place the transmission in park.
I have my 1500 and my wifes Compass set to do so, I've had very few issues when the parking brakes are used frequently.

As far as the traffic lights, left or top for red. Being slightly color deficient I have paid attention to that.
The worst part is yellow looking a lot like a street light to me.

I failed a MA vehicle inspection in my TR4 back in '70. I was looking good (or thought so) until I was asked to check the parking brake. I applied it, shifted into Reverse, gave 'er some gas, and eased out the clutch. The car move ~2" before stalling. "Not good enough. Come back when you get that fixed." ... ??

Nice! Sitting in the engine compartment.... back when there wasn't a bunch of extra "stuff" in there.

My first truck was a '67 Dodge slant six with creeper four-speed on the floor and no synchro on 1st gear. I could have taken a nap under the hood with it closed. The bed had been cut through by a PO and a large ring was anchored to the frame ... to tie down a hog going to the butcher.

Open a new car hood up now, it's generally packed.

I think I took that pic when I was about 15.

Cars are no different than HVAC equipment. The government keeps making new requirements for the manufacturers to meet that requires extra parts
