I'll take 2 of those. I needed one just yesterday. I was putting this thingie together for the CFO. I told her if I just had one of those doo-hickies that will make the thingamagig fit in the whatchacall it a little better.......I'd have it made.

Seriously, I have no idea what it is..../w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

Hi fella's
This was invented in Queensland Australia

It is a drill as the heading implied for drilling plate steel

USE (only for drill presses) It drills from 1/2 to in excess of 2" holes

(1) drill a 1/2 " hole with a normal twist bit
(2) adjust the bottom cutter on the shaft to suit the hole size you wish to drill then drill on the slowest spead possible.
(3) If you want to drill bigger than 1" do no1 then set the bottom cutter to 1" and drill that first, then adjust the second cutter to the size you want and then drill that.

I hope this makes sense.

Yes that's what it looks like to me too. Something like a fly cutter for boring. you adjust your cutter arm to set the diam of the hole you want. I would check out some machinists tool catalogs before I invested in it. The Chinese have made serious in roads to the low end tool market so you may not have the world by tail with them in the game.

OK, I'm now officially un-baffled. Actually, it looks like a pretty neat toy. Without a drill press, I don't see one in my future, though. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Mike

i have used it many times over the last 5 or 6 years. it is great, but you must use soluble oil with it.

Most times i have used it for drilling pin holes when i make attachments like front or back forks ect for the tractor, Its a cheap alternative to buying may different drill sizes.
