That is not confusing at all John. Just use the same rod as the base wood you are welding. :D

If you are trying to attach say pine to oak you must use a composite rode made of the two woods in the same ratio as their weight per cubic foot!:D :D

If you find some wood that cannot be identified there is "Mystery Rod" available that should do an adequate job!:D :D

Welding different woods is much easier than metals like say aluminum to cast iron!:D :D :D

I use weld-wood rods when welding wood parts together.
The nice thing is, they are cheap. You can grow your own,

I can't ever get a good ground when trying to weld wood.
The only thing that ever comes out right are my root passes........

I'm sooooo sorry.....

Yeah, but look on the bright side - all those guys who always give you a hard time about not posting pics of your tractor(s) just lost their ammo...

I built one similar once to prepare for some grass seeding. Only difference was I made it twice as wide as it was taking forever at only 3' a pass.

Also, I nailed a row of concrete nails (regular just bent over) into the bottom to help scarify the surface just enough to provide a little loose soil for the seed to take better.
