I'm only 13, and drinking is only an "every now and then" thing. I can say, I can take 2 and operate anything as usual. I mean I'll finish that 2 and ride a dirt bike, tractor, truck, anything and I will still use it right. I have never had an "adult beverage" while on the tractor, though. I know my limits, and I won't exceed them. Yes, my dad does know I drink.

Either domestic or micro- brews, I like my beer in a glass bottle. Which makes it a stationary drink. I've whacked my teeth with the bottles so many times just walking slowly, I can't imagine what it would be like on a bouncy tractor. I'd probably be toothless.

I only drink water from a water jug (something with a cap on it) because most other things get bugs, dirt, grass clippings, etc.... in them. When I was on the farm and would run the Oliver all day, my mother would bring me down a beer, or a mason jar of ice tea, or a chocolate malt around 4pm as a breather. I would stop the tractor, put it down to a idle and sit in the shade of the wheel and chat with her for a bit until I was done, hand her back the container and then be on my way again. (she did the same thing for my dad.) I never felt the effects of the one beer, but then again I am a big guy. 6'1" 250 lbs.

I don't think there is an issue having a beer, the problem comes in when people make it a continues drink while working on the tractor.

I'm not too crazy about this whole thread. Drinking while on a tractor? Kids throwing back a few and others drinking all day?

I'm not meaning to sound preachy either but I think it's time to let this one rest.

Any Father that lets a 13 year old kid drink is just asking for trouble

When someone gets hurt.....Then the parents will go to jail where they belong

Giving a 13 year old an "adult beverage" or letting a 13 year old drink one is a felony.

When a 13 year old grows up to be a alcoholic....Then they can blame them self's.

This is where you and your dad get lectured.

Take it from someone who started when he was 15 and doesn't remember much that happened until he was 24.... I wish my folks would have stopped me.

Now back to our previously scheduled thread.

I don't like drinking anything that is carbonated while on my tractor. It fizzes up in my belly and makes me burp and erp! A nice container of icy cold water does me fine until I'm finished.
