Do You Have A Cold Adult Beverage While Operating The Tractor?

Any Father that lets a 13 year old kid drink is just asking for trouble:rolleyes::confused:

When someone gets hurt.....Then the parents will go to jail where they belong:D

Giving a 13 year old an "adult beverage" or letting a 13 year old drink one is a felony.

When a 13 year old grows up to be a alcoholic....Then they can blame them self's.

Bill, you're absolutely right, with one exception. In Texas, at least, it isn't illegal if the alcoholic beverage is given to the minor by an adult spouse or parent. But of course, it's an extremely serious mistake on the part of his father, and he'll probably live to regret it.

We're getting way off topic, but I can't not put my two cents in.... It's hard to justify making the assumption that if a 13-year old drinks a beer every now and then he's going to eventually be an alcoholic.... That can easily happen even if this young fellow waits until he is of legal age....

The fact that he monitors and contributes to our forum suggests that he is pretty darn mature for his age and I accept that as a positive sign. My advice is to always, always, use common sense. Don't drink and drive when you once start driving a car. There ain't nothing cute or funny about being intoxicated... Certainly your friends may be impressed that you are allowed a beer, but forget about impressing your friends. Be your own man and use your God-given intelligence.
That's about all The Dougster has to say about this.

Still slightly off topic....
Take into account your local DUI laws. I'm pretty sure 2 beer in a man the size of any 13 year old would exceed our .08 adult blood alcohol limits. That would be a crime. It does not matter what the motorized vehicle is or where it is driven. Not sure what other local laws dictate.
It sadly remind me of the 6 year old that died some years ago on a 4 wheeler. The father was rightfully in shock and could not understand how it could happen to his unsupervised son. The son was"an experienced rider."

Hey Steve -- Ontario is now .05 BAL -- and don't forget you are thinking about our four to five % beer , not that 2 to 3% stuff sold some places:rolleyes:

Whoa, I have to watch the news more. I wonder how much beer it takes to reach .05?
I know a fellow, who years back lost his license based on sworn affidavits that he was impaired while driving a lawnmower down the laneway that I now maintain.

Wow. Must have had a really bad lawyer.

I'm with the crowd that thinks it's too bumpy to have a beer on the tractor. I bring one with me from time to time but the vibration and dirt usually ruin it before I need to whet my whistle.

This is where you and your dad get lectured.

Take it from someone who started when he was 15 and doesn't remember much that happened until he was 24.... I wish my folks would have stopped me. ;)

Now back to our previously scheduled thread.

I don't like drinking anything that is carbonated while on my tractor. It fizzes up in my belly and makes me burp and erp! :D A nice container of icy cold water does me fine until I'm finished.

To put this one down, please do not blame my parents or anyone but me. And it has probably been 3 occasions only once with 2 beers, and with few people around to injure or be stupid. I am 5' 10" and weigh 190. Please, I wouldn't drink any other time than a day when there's nothing that needs to be done or doing something that could cause serious injury if not done correctly. You are right, it isn't a good thing to do at all, and I do not recommend it in any way shape of form. Again, I apologize.

Why are you apologizing?
