DK50 binding issues

I have a DK50, around 2001ish, that binds (locks up) in 4WD when going forward and does the same thing in reverse when in 2WD. Any ideas, other than splitting the tractor? I'm thinking it's something with the selector forks but I'm hoping it's something simpler.

Is it possible to lift it off the wheels and try spinning them to maybe determine what part is grinding? That may help you determine where the issue lies.
