DK40SE dipstick

I lost my hydraulic dipstick in heavy brush. The replacement from the dealer is only about 7 inches long and doesn't reach past the tube. Can anyone tell me what the length is supposed to be?

Have you tried to find it with a magnet on​

a stick or using a metal detector ??

If you have an old engine you could pull dip stick and cut
it to fit then with tank is empty add one quart at a time
and scribe a line and mark 1, 2 etc
