Not sure if any holes are hidden under the plates or not, but cased upon what can be seen, both the front and rear are set to a center position. You have at least 1 more and 1 less aggressive setting on both gangs.

There are many ways to increase weight of the disk, all depending upon how much you wish to add and your fab skills. Some have been suggested.
Discing from different directions (90 and 45 degrees) will help to break up soil also.
Thanks for the info! What grease do you recommend for the bearings?

Looks to me like the front gangs should be closer together and the rear moved out.

As for grease, the best is the grease you will actually use. Meaning you can buy a high quality grease but if you do not use it, it does little good in fact it does less good than a cheap grease that is used each time the disc is used.
All that said, buy a good quality grease, never the cheapest and use it before discing.

Not too shabby before I changed the angle to the most aggressive holes. Then it was awesome. Definitely could have played with the top link some. I really need to get a hydraulic top and side link.

you can add weight to the disc as needed. used to put 8x8x16" concrete blocks on my old one.

Don't know how many passes you had to make, but you have that ground plenty good enough to plant a food plot.

Not too many. I think it's perfect for what I'm trying to do. My hay guy has is going to sell this cultipacker to me for real cheap once he's done with it. I should have everything I need then.

Earlier, I recommended adding weight to a disc using 55 gallon poly barrels and water. Here's my reasoning;

1- Poly barrels are cheap and easy to handle when empty. They can be bought for about $15.00 each and weigh about 25 lbs. empty.
2- One added on each side of the fore and aft center of the disc can help cutting into hard soil.
3- The weight is easily controlled with water.
4- The barrels can also double as a tank for a home made spray rig.
5- I also haul water for my orchard trees when we have dry spells here in Alabama.

A simple welded angle iron rack will keep them in place on your disc.

Late to the party, but that was a fantastic purchase. def38's suggestion to use poly barrels is a great idea. I may try that for our discs at hunt camp. None of us can weld but I could make up a 2x4 frame and bolt it or ratchet strap it to the disc frame.

At our hunt camp we have been rototilling and last year tried discs on a couple of sites...worked OK. I am experimenting with no-till for the food plots on my property as I do not have either a disc or tiller.
