I built one of these last year, worked good. Over the winter, I used the steel tubing it was made of for a different project with the idea I wanted to build a better one. I wanted to include a shank to pull a small furrow in the top of the hill to plant in, and make it removeable for when I just wanted to draw a row. After a whole lotta thinking, cost analysis (read cheapskatedness 
) and just trying to figure how to do it, I went with the KISS principle (keep it simple stupid). Since the other one worked fine, why not start there? That part was easy, square up a T upright on a 42" tool bar, weld, and weld the parts for the CAT 1 pins to attach to. Looking around the barn for parts to use to build the shank I was coming up with zilch, zero, nada. Forgot I had a couple of extra shanks from my Dearborn 13-2 cultivator. Already had the long U bolts, used what I had to mount for mock-up. So, for the BETA build and testing, here's what I came up with, and the test run in our "kitchen garden" at the house.
