Im looking into building a larger bucket for my digit pull behind excavator. Does anyone have any advise for me before i get started?

I have thought about doing the same for my DigIt. I was figuring on copying the 12" bucket I have now, just make it wider to 18".

I have am in no hurry as I have no particular need for the larger bucket, if I come across a used one that will fit before I build then that is the way I will go.

I don't know, maybe someone else here will, but it would seem that the bucket is probably universal between many of the similar machines. I might be wrong but i think last year when I was doing a bit of searching on the 'net I found reference to DigIt using bradco backhoe on their early machines, which is what I have.

The Digit company made a couple of different sizes, including there 12" they had an 18",24", and a 36" grave digging bucket. i cant seem to find any of them on the internet though. I plan on making one thats capable of holding about 2 cubic feet of dirt. i have looked at other small excavators and they all seem to have a different configeration on top of the bucket for there pins. alot of these buckets take a larger pin than what my digit takes, I have contemplated making bushings to slip over the pins i currently use so that my machine could accommadate a larger different brand bucket.
