Yup - The cost of just about everything will rise.

As far as my direct impact goes, my JD tractor is the only diesel I run. Fortunately, I don't use much of it!

Indirectly - just about everything we buy is transported to us by diesel fueled rigs.

''Indirectly - just about everything we buy is transported to us by diesel fueled rigs.'' Thats right. I guess this is always fresh in my head as one day I was buying gas and I mentioned to someone how the Diesle has gone up sharply and they replied. I dont have a diesel so I dont care what it costs.
Here in my are people heat with oil, And everything comes by truck, or even a train, so diesel to move it all.
Dont care what the 'experts' say when this cost rises I have less money to spend at the stores.

Yep same here in canada. Get used to it, we have ALWAYS paid more for fuel then you guys down south. Everything is going up in price and there isnt much a person can do but budget better i guess. I bought 500L of diesel the other day and it was 1.03/L or 3.99/gal. This was for Off road fuel, not clear pump diesel. Pump diesel is 1.25/L or 4.84/gal. Pretty sad in my mind when 10 years ago they could barly give diesel away since there was so much of it but now that has changed.

Twas $3.89 this morning. The price has been pretty stable around that amount of months and months.

Now that I said it, maybe it will jump up by the time I go home tonight. :D

Later,
Dan

Read an article today that said gas will be over $4/gal in the lower 48 this summer. Just imagine what diesel will be? This will likely kill any improvements in the economy this year.

Went down a bit around here yesterday. Runs $3.75 - $3.85, saw a former 3.75 station at 3.69 today. The weather has been so mild around here, maybe its because they are not selling much heating oil.

Sadly, since we don't explore our own natural resources, are dependent on other nations for our oil, AND print money like we're hired, everything will continue to go up.

Our economy is basically on life support.

Diesel is about $.20 more than gas on the wholesale market plus about $.05 more in road taxes. But it runs about $.60 more at the pump. Gas is sold by refiners at cost and they make their profit on the rest of the refined barrel.
