Diesel Oil use in a Cub Cadet Kohler 25 HP engine . . . good, bad, or not the best ?

My issue is I was using Cub Cadet oil also in 2015 for the slightly used mower I bought. But that is 10w-30 oil. So because I would also use the unit with a snowblower in Wisconsin winters . . I changed out to 5w-30 Havoline. But at the same time I was changing the oil in the subcompact and switching to synthetic mobil because it was such a great value ( after rebate it was and is again less than 10 bucks a gallon). So I start thinking if the synthetic acts as an all season oil for the subcompact . . . could it do the same for the kohler gas engine . . . which is why this thread started.

Full synthetic name brand product for 2.50 a quart and if its ok to use in gas engines . . It gives a bunch if added pourability and all season gains.

$11.99/qt is an awful high price for a non-synthetic oil. I realize you don't use much but just the same.......

Of course, you're right. When I bought my Toro ZTR, that's the oil that my dealer stocked and sold for it. But he quit stocking the Kohler oil; said he had to order too large an amount at a time. So I've just stayed with it, even though I hae to order it at a very high price. But I notice they claim it's rated for diesels also.

Just curious . . On the front of the container is it called diesel engine oil or engine oil for gas engines?
