Did I get the wrong moly grease for my backhoe/loader pins?

Grabbed this moly grease, when I got home realized it says lithium. Its dark like im used to. Says NLGI-LB on the back.

Thanks for the help!

Somebody help me out here: Where's the downside here?

First of all, any grease is light years ahead of no grease. Looks fine to me, remember you are not lubricating high speed bearings here. Lube away.

Use it, you will be good. Pay attention to how long it stays in the joint.

I found Wal-Mart SuperTech Marine Grease lasts the longest in my Cat backhoe.

I tried a sporty looking Red synthetic but it ran out of the joints from the heat in the summer.

I think most of it is lithium base. Look at the moly content. I switched to a 5% moly for my backhoe and it lasts much longer than what I had been using.

From a reliable source I read you should not always be switching back and forth from lithium based grease to other based grease. Stick with the same base. Switching once in a blue moon doesn't hurt. As long as that tube says high pressure I would use it and then stick to a lithium based grease.

On loaders and backhoes pins I switched to Deere polyurea grease. It's their "best" in a lineup of lithium, lith-moly and then polyurea. Kubota also sells a branded polyurea now and I believe dropped the basic lithium from their line.

The Deere poly is a thicker grease that makes loaders, buckets, pins etc feel as tight as new and it stays there for a while.
